imageI was a Girl Scout and took the “Be prepared” motto to heart. In keeping with that, I never go anywhere without some sort of project…you know what they say about idle hands! In the event that I’m stuck in traffic or killing time in a dentist’s or doctor’s waiting area, I just pull out my bead-filled mini travel tin from my bag and stitch several rows. I’ve found that an earring project is perfect as it requires very few beads and a modicum of thread, takes up little space, and works up in a jiffy! I’m presently on vacation and working on some triangular drop earrings (geometric triangles inspired by CGB and Jean Power) using Delica beads with 7mm x 17mm handmade Czech “Magic” spike beads (they are called Magic because the colors change like magic depending on lighting conditions!) at the base. The spike beads give the earrings weight and the colorful triangles dangle from several lengths of antique-finished sterling silver chain and handmade sterling silver ear wires. I’m really having fun with these!
