I never can stay awake long enough to watch the Academy Awards presentations in it’s entirety, but I do enjoy seeing the fashion and jewelry being worn on the pre-show broadcast. Sadly, most of the jewelry is diamond encrusted, mass produced, and the rather mainstream type, which seems to be favored by the rich and/or famous. What I’d really love to see be worn is one-of-a-kind art jewelry pieces as well as cutting-edge funky clothing and shoes rather than extravagant gowns and five-inch stilettos! Now that would be wonderful to see!
