It seems like forever since I’ve had a block of time to sit down and bead. Life has gotten in the way again and is taking up far too much of my creative time. One of the biggest challenges these days is being a “mom” to two five-month-old kittens (a.k.a. toddlers)! When they are not ensconced in their room, they have to be watched constantly as they are into EVERYTHING! They spend supervised time daily in the master bath area and on the screened porch, but much of our house is designed with open-living space where they can’t be contained, so until they are older and have settled down AND Peekaboo no longer sees them as a threat to her territory, they will be staying in their own room where they can “rough and tumble” around with their many toys. Unless they are sleeping or preening themselves, they have one speed and that is FAST…Cooper runs like a cheetah! The studio will be off-limits for quite a while. I shudder to think what they would do with all the beads and the wall of yarn and I know that I would never get ANY work done!

Last night I decided to take a bath to warm up (temperatures have dropped ludicrously low for September!). I carefully watched Cooper as on two previous occasions he had jumped in and gone for a swim! While I was keeping my eye on him, Jackson snuck up behind me and, “PLOP!” he was swimming amidst the bubbles with me! Needless to say, it was not the most relaxing bath experience for either of us! Every day brings a new adventure with these two rascals!
