Metal Clay_Play Day

I’ve already sold out of the collections of fine silver metal clay Ammonite components I listed several days ago so it’s time to make more! I’ve also made several collections of Flower Disk embellishments, which I’ll be listing in my Etsy shop soon. The work shown here is dry and ready for finishing, which entails smoothing and enlarging bead holes before firing in the kiln. I’ll be sanding any rough and uneven edges on the two pod-shaped pieces shown in the lower right corner. They will be used in a polymer and metal clay necklace I’m currently working on. To their left is a piece impressed in a silicone mold made from a fossilized Trilobite…it will undoubtedly become a pendant. After firing, all these pieces will be cleaned up, tumbled, and patinaed. It’s a lot of time-consuming piece work and I’m always pleased when everything is photographed and listed so I can get on to the next project! I’m dying to get back to the hydraulic press and play with my new pancake, silhouette, and impression dies! Maybe I’ll find time to get to that tomorrow! As always, I never have enough time to do everything I want…I just can’t imagine what it’s like to be bored!
