MixedMedia_PolymerClay_BronzeMetalClay_ArtifactNeckPieceI’ve been a fan of polymer clay for quite some time and have enjoyed using it in many of my mixed media pieces. It is a wonderfully versatile material that is capable of taking on endless forms in every color imaginable. I have quite a few books that showcase works in polymer clay: “Polymer – The Chameleon Clay” by Victoria Hughes and “Masters: Polymer Clay – Major Works by Leading Artists” are just two books dedicated to the art of polymer in my collection.  Now “Polymer Clay – Global Perspectives” has just been released.  The book, written by Cynthia Tinapple, founder of the blog Polymer Clay Daily, is an ambitious project filled with interesting PolymerClayGlobalPerspectivescontent featuring the work of 125 international artists. Perusing each page, I realize that I must carve out more time to explore and play with polymer clay. I’ve been immersed in beading for so many months that I’m afraid my endeavors in metal work, polymer, and resin have fallen by the wayside. Fortunately, they will all be waiting when I’m ready to delve into playing with mixed media once again. I’m very pleased that my “Artifact Neck Piece”, a mixed media work made with sterling silver, bronze metal and polymer clay was chosen to be included in the book. Thank you, Cynthia!
