CreativeComponentsWrap_DisplayedI haven’t really had an entire day to bead in the past three weeks! With the arrival of warmer weather, many chores have demanded my time so I haven’t yet been able to delve into the Rick-Rack cuff project that has been floating around in my head – I need a solid chunk of time to experiment with that! When I only have a free hour or two, beaded components are my “go to” project. They work up quickly and offer immediate gratification, which is something I truly appreciate. Inspired by Wings in Contemporary Geometric Beadwork, I really love the mini-winged tube beads in the neck wrap I’ve just finished. They play nicely against the stacked sequins, and small brass gear beads. Faux seashells made of epoxy resin clay finish the ends of the memory wire and miniature faux seashell bead caps add panache to the vintage Czech pressed glass accent beads. I’ve written a pattern for this design and am now assembling beading kits for this project, which by the way, can be made as a bracelet by substituting 2.25″ memory wire for the 3.75″ necklace memory wire I used. You’ll find the Creative Components Wrap pattern and kit in my Etsy shop!
