Mixed Media - Loves Me, Loves Me Not - Brooch

I had fun creating this brooch! I used a pancake die and hydraulic press to cut out a bronze flower shape, soldered a fine silver bezel at the center, and then hammer-textured the petals to add a bit of interest and form. I toyed with the idea of setting a gemstone, but knew polymer clay would give this piece the funky look I was after. A sterling silver wire-worked pin stem adds a bit of playfulness to the design and liver of sulfur was applied to created a subtle patina. The brooch measures 1.75″ (44mm) in size. You may already have guessed…the title of this versatile daisy brooch is “Loves Me, Loves Me Not”. You can find this One-of-a-Kind brooch in my Etsy shop. I definitely plan to create more whimsical mixed-media pieces using polymer clay!
